A blog you might like

You (the homemaker) will be very influential in seeing your entire family through this economic crisis. What you learn now and what you already know could very well mean make or break for your family.

There is a significant job of work to be done here in our homes. We need to plan what we're doing, learn the skills we need to get us through this and work for the good of our families. Let's put our aprons on and begin.

You can find the rest here.

Do you think he eats it? EDIT: He ate it, said it was kind of strange but not bad:-)

So I don't have any bread in the house. Or tortillas. And only a few broken crackers. So the next best thing was ice cream cones, minus the ice cream that is. He can fill them with tuna salad when he is ready to eat. Too strange?

Necessity is the mother of intention.

I do remember the hubby once telling me about a guy he used to work with who used to get leftover pancakes wrapped around yesterdays hotdogs in his lunch!??!?! I guess you do what you gotta do.

We'll see if this flies first before I try the pancake thing. Any wagers on if he eats it or not, I'm guessing 50/50.

My livingroom on a daily basis

Is this what your livingroom turns into everyday? I drive me crazy but there is some many worse thing for them to be doing so I just watch. Here they are playing Noah's ark. This one is just for fun.

Need a toothbrush or 2 or 34?

Meijer is doing a promotion on their health and beauty products which mean lots and lots of toothbrushes and lots and lots of fun. Here is a picture of my last six transactions---

8 kashi pizzas

19 toothbrushes

8 hand soaps

1 tweezers

4 bags of flossers

1 pair of gloves for Lula

2 boxes of organic tea

Total out of pocket 6 bucks and some change. Yippie!!!!!

So here is what you do. Buy 5 meijer toothbrushes priced at $1.09, they will give you a Catalina for $8 off your next purchase. So go buy five more toothbrushes or other meijer products. The meijer milk and honey hand soap, or flossers, shave gel, cottonballs all work, I even got 5 nail polishes clearanced to $1.12 each. Throw in whatever maybe a clearance's kashi pizza to get your total over $8 pay with catalina plus some change and do it again and again. I did 12 transactions yesterday. Total was probably close to $20 but a half gallon jar of olives made that so high. And I still have a cat for $8 off my next purchase. Hurry deal ends on the 11th.

Anyboby wanna buy a pizza??

A Yummy Biscuit Recipe

First of all I don't like biscuits, can you say dry! Forced frugality has made me try these hard hockey puck wanna be bread things.

And I was pleasantly surprised, they aren't so bad. So go here and use this recipe and enjoy. Eat one straight out of the oven with butter and jam. Or with the traditional biscuits and gravy.

I used: whole wheat flour, rice milk and butter instead of shortening. Pretty healthy and cheap!

the "i'm bored list"

Poor, poor blog! How has it been a month already?

Well here is our "I'm bored list" just to keep you two readers entertained. In no particular order here is what I send them to do when they can't find anything to do:

The obvious go clean _____.
Dominoes
Fill sink with water and give them cups and funnels and such.
Put an inch of water in the tub and let them play with dolls or whatever else needs a bath.
Lego's, I'm really specific like build me a man 1 foot tall.
Puzzles.
Homemade play dough.
Button art (glue buttons to paper)
Tinker toys, again specific, ex. a rolling contraption that is taller than me.
Wood blocks, make a fort for the army men, build a city or a just a wall.
Finger knit- learn on YouTube.

Do you have any good ones to add? With this sub below weather the I'm bored's are getting a bit much.
